Bonus: Places to Sightsee in Pittsburgh

1. Mt. Washington Overlooks

The view of the city from the overlooks is awe-inspiring.

2. The Point – Point State Park

Enjoy a walk around the park and check out the fountain and view from where our 3 rivers meet. This park is also the historical site of Ft. Duquesne.

3. Market Square

Often there are special activities such as yoga in the square, pop-up shops, and festivals in Market Square. But even when there’s not, you can enjoy any of the restaurants, even trying a classic Pittsburgh sandwich from Primanti Brothers (get your fries and ‘slaw on that sammich!)

4. North Shore - Stadiums, Science Center, &  Mr. Rogers

The North Shore River Walk is beautiful. Not only can you see the city from across the river, but you can also walk past both our baseball & football fields and the Carnegie Science Center. Keep walking a bit and you’ll eventually be able to sit and admire the city with a statue of Pittsburgh’s beloved Mr. Rogers.

5. Andy Warhol Museum

Located in the North Shore. The Andy Warhol museum is a celebration of Pittsburgh born-artist, Andy Warhol. This museum is the largest museum dedicated to a single artist.

6. Randyland

This home of artist Randy Gilson is a local treasure. It’s located in the Mexican War Streets area of the NorthSide and promises a delightful experience to all who visit.

7. National Aviary

Yes, Pittsburgh is home to the National Aviary. This is located in the North Side and houses a variety of cool birds from around the world. Of particular acclaim is Kodiak the Steller’s Sea Eagle who gained fame for taking a brief tour of Pittsburgh on his own last year.

8. Cathedral of Learning

Tour the Nationality Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh, which celebrate our diverse communities. Located in Oakland.

9. The Strip District

I promise it’s not what it sounds like. This neighborhood of Pittsburgh at the fringe of Downtown has lots of mom & pop shops and open air markets along Penn & Smallman Avenues. This is a major hot spot for Saturday morning markets.
