1 weekend to better dance teaching? Yes, you can have it.

Do you wish you had a treasure chest of teaching secrets to make class planning easier? You know how to dance, but figuring out how to help others improve is a struggle. This person is a natural, that person has never danced before, and there are others in between, too. You want to help them all learn to love dancing, but how can you help them get there before they get frustrated and give up?

In the dance teaching world there are a lot of training programs out there that teach you WHAT to teach, but rarely do they teach you HOW to teach - and that’s what’s missing. You could be a world champion performer who knows all the technicalities of your dance style, but if you don’t know how to reach a variety of learners, your lessons will fall flat and will leave both you and the learners frustrated.

As a licensed Spanish teacher since 2009, I would get frustrated in dance classes that lacked any systematic methodology to their teaching. Teaching new patterns every week wasn’t making me a better dancer. For years, no one wanted to listen to my ideas about how dance classes could be done better. But in 2021 when I finally started teaching Bachata, I proved myself right when I discovered teaching people to social dance is very similar to teaching a language. My students were excited, motivated, and impressed at how their thinking around dance learning changed just from taking an 8-week class. Now, people are coming to me to pick my brain on how they could teach better, too.

Imagine if you could go back to uni to study education so you could better understand the things school teachers know – how people learn and remember information, how to build a curriculum, even just knowing the components of a good lesson. That would be great, right?

Well, I’m excited to share with you that you can have that in just 1 weekend!

Introducing….

The Psychology of Learning: A Teacher Training weekend Course for Dance Teachers

You’ll learn…

  • the principles of psychology teachers use to understand how learning happens

  • to see social dance as a language, and what that means for teaching

  • strategies to increase engagement in your classes

  • to create strong learning sequences

  • how to make sure all students are progressing once teaching is underway

What you’ll get when you enroll in this class:

  • 13 hours of live, interactive instruction

  • A 75-page Refleciton Packet with prompts to turn you into an active learner

  • Tools & resources to help you have a strong start

You’ll walk away with…

  • a 4-week curriculum and lesson plans that incorporate the psychology of learning

What would it be worth to you to skip years of struggle, frustration, and self-doubt and receive a toolbox full of science-backed methodology that you can use in your classes right away? I spent over $90k and 8 years on all my education degrees, and you can get this 13-week course for just $450. A steal, am I right?

This course is limited to 10 spots - don’t wait to register, because spots may be gone later.

Is this course for me?

This course is not for you if…

  • You haven’t trained the technical side of your dance style yet including:

    • Breaking down the dance into basic elements

    • Identifying common learning problems

    • Dancing both leader & follower roles well

    • Evaluating quality difference in movement

This course is perfect for you if…

  • You can do everything above

  • You’re already teaching or just about ready to begin

  • You teach a social dance style (Latin, WCS, Kizomba, Ballroom, etc.)

  • You are a curious and reflective learner

Will you take the slow road… or the highway?

But what do dancers in my classes say about the effect of my teaching?

I really like the vibe of your class. I took some other classes before and they felt harder. I don’t mean what they taught was harder, but how they taught was. -NN

I can’t tell you how glad I am that I came to your class. I love your approach to teaching Bachata. I took a different class before but all they did was teaching a routine. I’m loving this already! -DB

You do such a good job of targeting all learning styles and I appreciate that! -TB

I feel that my Bachata abilities have tripled in the past few weeks. -JC

I am still so grateful for your classes. I learned more in those 2 courses than I did anywhere else. -AB
